She's Baaaack...!
Guess who’s back, sports fans? I know you missed me! Now that the Springtime festivities are well underway, I think it’s fitting that Fay’s blog follows the trend. So, let’s see what I have in my magic bag of stories for you.
The Baseball team’s season started this week with an unfortunate and disappointing loss. But don’t give up faith so early in the race, people, because talking to the players, it seemed as though they’re more ready than ever for their next game. In fact, most of them seem to be amped more than disappointed. It’s good to see that they know one loss isn’t the end of the world, and that next time they can win, provided they don’t psych themselves out this time around. We’re all routing for you guys- make us proud!
Track and Field also kicked off this week with their first meet of the season. Now, I will freely admit that I don’t generally follow Track, seeing as I could never remember any of the rules. But I do have a lot of respect for the athletes, because I know that running and pole-vaulting is nowhere near as easy as it looks. I mean, you have to be in amazing shape to be able to do these things- which I of course am not. (What can I say? I’m creative, that doesn’t mean I’m graceful!) Seriously, though, I’m proud of all my Track and Field Athletes- Taylor Bain, Jen Bourque, Evan Cummins, Ben Gluck, Theresa Nosel etc. I know there’s many more of you guys, but I don’t have a roster on me- sorry! I’ll be asking around for that, I promise.
As far as National Sports go, I’m sure all the golf fans are excited for the Masters this weekend. My personal favorite is Rory McIlroy, but I’m not placing any bets before we get farther into the tournament, especially after last year’s…. yeah. But hey, if you’re ranked as the second best player in the world, you’ve got something going for you. A word to the wise, though-Stay. Away. From. Trees.
Well, I suppose that’s it for today. Remember to buy your tickets to Prom if you’re a Junior, and if you’re anyone, remember that the Drama Department’s production of South Pacific is coming up soon! Make sure you see this one- they’ve been working really hard for a while now, so let’s show some support! Until then Bulldogs, don’t forget to hug your favorite athlete, or non-athlete, and watch out for those Easter Bunnies. They’re very vicious.
