The Rams, under first-year coach Paul Courtois, finished 1-21 in the dual-meet season. Zack Gardiner, the Rams’ 160-pound senior wrestler, was named All-CCC East. He missed most of January because of a concussion. The CCC East Championship meet was canceled because of snow and no Rams advanced in the Class M championship meet.

Rockville had two seniors on the team and was down to 10 wrestlers on the varsity roster by mid-season. The Rams will return eight wrestlers for 2012-13.

Indoor Track & Field

Senior Kelly Walker placed ninth in the 55-meter hurdles at the Class M girls championship meet on Feb. 14 with a time of 6.70 seconds. She was seventh in the 300 in 43.64. Freshman Haley Hasty ran a personal best of 5:45 in the 1,600 in Class M, placing 14th.

The 1,600-meter sprint medley relay turned in a season’s best time of 4:43.80 to place 12th in Class M. Joining Hasty and Walker in the relay were Megan McCollum and Courtney Carpenter. Walker, the 2010-11 Class MM outdoor 300 hurdles champion, was sixth in the 55 hurdles at the CCC Championships on Jan. 28.

The boys team did not score points in the CCC championships and did not compete in the class meets. The Rams were 21st among the 25 schools that scored in the conference meet on Jan. 28 in New Haven.

Boys Swimming & Diving

Jon Frank swam as a team of one with South Windsor this winter under the coaching of Heather Lodge. Frank won the 100-yard breaststroke in the CCC North Championship meet on March 3. Frank qualified for the Class M championship meet March 13 at Wesleyan University, reaching the time cutoff standards in the breaststroke and 100-yard butterfly.
