The annual Vernon Fishing Derby, sponsored by the Vernon Parks & Recreation Department, was well attended once again this year with over 50 boys and girls who tried their luck at catching the big one.  Many prizes were handed out by TJ's Fly Shop in Union, CT, and this year's overall grand-prize winner was Vernon resident Sam Hollworth, a 9-year-old angler.  Congratulations to Sam on his prize trout which weighed in at just under one pound!
