Former Tolland student athlete Mindy Sharon was named a West Virginia University Athlete of the Week for the performance of her novice four crew at the Knecht Cup in New Jersey on the weekend of April 15^th.

The sophomore and her novice team of Bethany Anne Shapen, Enya Messermith , Kaitlyn Eason and coxswain Alexandra Basil finished sixth out of 47 crews in the Grand Final of the Knecht Cup after previously winning both their preliminary and semifinal heats.  In the final, Sharon helped lead the Mountaineers across the line in just 8:34.05.
