CT Wave Unified Program Still Going Strong

The CT Wave Unified Basketball Program had 18 participants from around the area this year. The program stresses the benefits of team sports and joins people with and without intellectual disabilities in an effort to promote friendship and understanding.
The Connecticut Wave Unified Basketball program recently completed yet another successful season with 18 players from Ellington, Vernon and surrounding towns participating.
The program which also has student volunteers from local high schools, is completely funded through charitable donations and nominal player participation fees. Program director Kim Skewes of Ellington was instrumental in making the 2012 season a success along with her husband Don and Mike Kosilla, also of Ellington.
