Notes From the Catwalk and a Blood Drive (Unrelated Incidents)
Hey everyone, Fay’s blog here. Well, with basketball season coming to an end (and my game money running seriously low), News has been pretty slow, other than the fact that GIANTS WON THE SUPERBOWL! I’m a sore winner, I never do get over the gloating phase (even almost two weeks later.) So, I haven’t been posting as often. But rest assured I’m a ridiculous baseball fan, so the second the season starts I’ll be right on top of it.
So, for now I’ll be following up on some interesting, sort of sports related things for your entertainment. Posts probably won’t be nearly as long or as inherently awesome, but hey, I take what I can get here. Anyhow…
Let’s see. I’m not going to lie and say I’ve been to many games in the past two weeks, because, as I said, game money’s tight. I’m considering making myself a PRESS badge and wearing a reporter’s hat, but that might be a little fat-headed, don’t you think? Either way, the last I’d heard of the boys was that they were continuing their streak (win-lose-win), and the girls are still playing with a lot of heart. (Oh, and KELSEY HEAVENER . There you go, you made it into the blog Kelsey, as promised, though no one else on earth is going to understand it...)
Speaking of hearts, Valentine’s Day was on Tuesday- but I celebrate Singles Awareness Day, because I’m single and proud of it. Kind of. So, happy holidays, and I hope everyone got the same horrible sugar crash I did the next morning. It wasn’t pretty.
Now I promised I’d talk about the Fashion Show, and though it’s a week (or two) later, I still feel obligated, so here I go. The night started off with half of our models changing in the Girl’s Dressing Room at the back of the stage, half changing in the teacher’s lounge, and everybody running about worrying about their hair and earrings, can-you-find-my-lipstick moments abounding. Which is why I decided, like a logical human being and not a teenage girl, to decide these things beforehand *collective gasp*. Yes, people, I can be girly and I can flaunt it.
With all the craziness beforehand, it was surprising how well the show went off. Hayley Richards and Jesse Scroggins were the announcers for the evening, putting in a few creative sentences to introduce the models at the beginning- for example, Melanie Roberts was compared to Cinderella in her sparkly-poofy pink princess dress. I loved it. And since I know you’re all just dying to know who I was compared to, the exact sentence used was, “Is that Megan Fox? No, it’s Emily Fay!” AHAHAHAHAHA Megan Fox. Yeah right. The best thing about Hayley is she can always make me laugh.
As for the prettiest and best worn dress there? I’d have to say Vivian Ojeda takes the cake on both accounts, having worn a simply cut purple dress with a beaded front that looked amazing on her. Kudos to Viv, but Melanie’s still my date to prom if she gets that dress. In a totally platonic way, mind you.
Well then. It seems my work is done here. Now for updates. The National Honor Society is sponsoring a Blood-Drive on February 29, which is open to anyone over seventeen (which is a little upsetting, since I’m only sixteen and wanted to give this year). So please, see an NHS member for details- it’s totally worth it to save someone’s life.
Seeing as that’s pretty much it for the day… and week… I think I’ll have to say “Auf Wiedersehen!” Hug an athelete, hug a band nerd, but DON’T hug a cactus. That is not a good idea.
